Wallpanel Installing Robot

Wallpanel Installing Robot is a construction robot that automates the grabbing, conveying and adjustment of Alc wall panels during installation. The robot is guided to the grasping site through an application. A visual charge-coupled device, sensors and built-in algorithms adjust the position of the robot relative to the panel, and the panel is then lifted, erected and pushed into place. The robot measures 2100 by 1100 by 1700 millimeters and weighs 750 kilograms. The aim is to reduce heavy manual work, raise efficiency and lower safety risks on site.

Openwear

Openwear is a toolkit for building wearable electronic prototypes quickly. The toolkit includes a modified Lilypad USB development board, eleven newly designed modules and quick connecting cables. Each module carries an input or output chip and six pins of 3 mm diameter. Magnets of 10 mm diameter are fixed to the back of the boards, so the parts hold onto clothes through magnetic pads instead of sewing. O-connectors and bolts join the pins. Prototypes can be built, tested and rearranged directly on fabric.

Each shelf board has a thin front edge and a trapezoidal hollow section at the base next to the wall, which lowers the weight and raises the load bearing capacity. An ultra-thin LED lamp strip adds controllable light. Standard sizes and a range of colours suit the living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Assembly on the wall is simple.

Cutting accuracy is under 0.5 mm, and more than 100 materials can be processed, from thin vinyl to thick cardboard. The housing is made of ABS, galvanized sheet and stainless steel. A stepper motor and a replaceable steel blade kit support precise cutting. A built in storage cup holds tools and waste.

Venous Materials

Venous Materials is an interactive material that works as both a sensor and a display. Thin fluidic channels are formed inside soft silicone, and colored ink moves through the channels. When a user bends the material or applies pressure, the ink flow changes and creates visible patterns and color shifts. The material is soft and self-contained, and the motion of the user provides the energy. A computational design tool allows the geometry and the fluid flow to be simulated before production. Production involves laser engraving and laboratory processes.
